Ready to get started?
Before joining our cohousing community, it’s important that your household has a chance to:
- Get to know the community members
- Understand the benefits and commitments involved in cohousing
- Learn about the development and your unit of interest
To assist with this, our membership process involves 3 main steps:
Step 1
Meet with one of our members
Goal
- Learn more about our community, the development, and cohousing
- Get answers to any initial questions you may have
What’s Involved?
- Complete our intake form
- We’ll connect you with an existing member and/or provide a list of upcoming events you can attend to learn more
Step 2
Become an associate member (membership valid for up to 3 months)
Goal
- Indicate your interest in a unit
- Attend our regular meetings/events and observe our consensus decision-making and other community-building processes
- Decide if cohousing is right for you
What’s Involved?
- Complete a household profile
- Agree to participate in the community during your associate member period by signing the associate member agreement
Step 3
Become an equity member and reserve your unit
Goal
- Reserve your unit of interest
- Become a member of our cohousing community with the ability to fully participate in all decision-making processes
What’s Involved?
- Attend a minimum of three events, including one community meeting
- Complete an Equity Membership application form
- Confirm that you have the financial means to purchase your desired unit
- Provide a non-refundable commitment of $2,000 to help with general OUV community expenses, plus you unit’s share of the payment for the shared internet program.
- Connect directly with Tomo Spaces to confirm your intent to sign a Purchase and Sale Agreement for a specific unit.
